10 years

2017 - This year commemorates 10 years of Noah’s Hope ministering to families in our city grieving the loss of a baby.

Did you know that 1 in 4 women will experience miscarriage, infant loss or still birth?  Did you know that each year around 35 mothers leave each of our 4 local hospitals with empty arms.  That’s 35 from EACH hospital.

Over the last 10 years the women at Headwaters Church have pieced together nearly 1000 photo memory books and given hundreds of Noah Bears to our local hospitals.  Noah’s Hope has offered comfort to thousands of families in our community, including many in our own church family who have experienced loss.

I have personally handed some of these bears to mamas in the hospital.  I can tell you that you can see in their eyes just how much it means that someone else sees their baby’s life as precious and sees them in their pain and grief.

As ones who have experienced God's comfort, what a privilege it is to come together as a church family to pray for and encourage the brokenhearted in our community in this small, but very tangible way.

To commemorate 10 years of Noah's Hope, we redesigned this outreach around the Noah Bear. Each bear comes with a personal note from Kristin and a message from Headwaters Church, a new tag and handwritten cards. The women of Headwaters now gather together several times a year to assemble tags for hundreds Noah Bears as well as make cards and pray for the families receiving them.

Our prayer is that through Headwaters, Noah's Hope can continue to offer comfort to families in our community experiencing the loss of a baby.  This small gift we give affirms that each life is precious, no matter how small and that our Headwaters family cares for you in your loss too.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4  “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort.  Who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.”
