Noah’s Hope ministers to families in our city grieving the loss of a baby.
The Numbers
Did you know that 1 in 4 women will experience miscarriage, infant loss or still birth? Did you know that each year around 30-40 mothers leave Dupont, PRMC, Parkview Randalia and Lutheran Hospitals with empty arms. That’s 30-40 from each hospital.
Each year the Women of Headwaters prepare 200 “Noah Bears” for Labor and Delivery and NICU units, as well as 200 “Small Bears” which are specifically given in the ERs at Parkview to hundreds of women experiencing early miscarriage each year.
The bears are delivered to our local hospitals by Headwaters volunteers. We also provide bears to DeKalb & Whitley County Hospitals.
Hope and Healing
Over the past 13 years Noah’s Hope has offered comfort to thousands of families in our community, including many in our own church family who have experienced loss.
What a privilege it is to come together as a church family to pray for and encourage the brokenhearted in our community in this small, but very tangible way.
On occasion we have had local families join us to assemble some bears after receiving one themselves, as a way to honor their child.
A Testimony
A mom who received a Noah Bear wrote us in 2019:
“About 2 months ago we found out our baby at 18 weeks didn’t have a heartbeat. We delivered at Lutheran Hospital, and one of the nurses gave us a teddy bear from your church. The letter that was attached to it was absolutely perfect, and it’s so touching that you do this. I read the letter a lot during the day, and the teddy bear stays in our living room. I just wanted to say thank you so much!”
Join us
You don’t have to be crafty. If you have received comfort from God in your troubles, then we’d love for you to join us to assemble tags for 100 Noah Bears as well as make cards and pray for the families receiving them.
